Rocker Cover Bolt-650 Twins

Order arrived on time and was exactly what I needed after 2 of these snapped during valve adjustment. Be sure to pick up the washers as well.

After I finished the valve/tappet adjustment service for my Royal Enfield INT-650, (Interceptor), I over tightened one of the bolts securing the rocker cover box to the top of the engine. The instructions that I followed said to torque the bolt to 12 newton meters, (8.85 foot-pounds). I set my torque wrench correctly, but this seems to be too much torque for these bolts. I almost snapped the bolt, but thankfully I stopped in time and was able to remove it safely. However, now I needed to find a replacement bolt. After a quick search on the internet I found Western Cycle Supply had these in stock, so I placed an order. The part arrived in the mail approximately 3 days later. It was exactly what I needed! NOTE: I would suggest to anyone performing this service that a more appropriate torque setting for these bolts is around 7 – 9 newton meters, (or around 5 – 6.5 foot-pounds). Ride safe out there!
